Happy New Year! I put up my Pink Lotus Blossom today as the Lotus symbolizes new beginnings after growing up through the muck at the bottom of the pond.  2013 has been a challenging year for some of my friends and family but I’m getting a good feeling about this new year.  Personally I am feeling very upbeat, things are looking up all around us.  A very good friend of mine is relocating from the West Coast to North Carolina so we will be able to see each other more often.  My eldest niece is days away from having her baby, the first in the new generation so we are all excited for her and her husband about this new addition to our family.  My daughter will return from winter break to a brand new state of the art building instead of the trailers where she has spent most of her high school years in.  Lots of good changes going on.  I hope there are good things happening for you and that this new year brings much joy and happiness!

  1. I have a good feeling about the coming year as well. Incidentally it’s the Chinese year of the Horse, which is also my birth year! I wish you all the best, lots of rest and recreation, peaceful times for art making.

    1. Thank you Pia, same to you! I haven’t painted all month and am restless to start back. Sounds like this Chinese year of the Horse is going to be a more fun and free spirited one and a especially a good one for you, it makes sense that you love horses.

  2. Happy New Year to you too Heni! I have always loved your Pink Lotus painting, so refreshing to look at, and a refreshing concept for the new year. May it be filled with bright blessings for all! ~Melissa
